Cass Community United Methodist Church has been involved in mission work in Detroit since the Great Depression and has sent teams of youth and adults across the country and around the world to respond to human need. Some of these destinations include New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Missouri, Ohio, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, and Texas.
In 2020, a group of 8 young adults traveled to Illinois to help a poor congregation tackle building maintenance and upkeep to ready the facility for worship to return following the pandemic. In 2022, the same group stayed in Detroit to help with maintenance on our own property.
